About Us

The Uncommon Shop started as an idea in the fall of 2018. Originally, the plan was to launch "only" an online store for the oldest trading card game: Magic! The Gathering. Over time, more and more games have been added: From Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! to the newer games like Digimon and Dragonball.

It all started in the original apartment of the founder, Pascal Stalder. Due to the lack of space, the "warehouse" has then increasingly developed. From a garage to the first own small store with additional storage space in Romanshorn at Bahnhofstrasse 4 so no two years have passed.

At the beginning of the year 2021 we could move to the current address, Bahnhofstrasse 16 in 8590 Romanshorn!
With a large storefront on the main street and an even larger warehouse in the back, the Uncommon Shop is now the largest online TCG store in Switzerland. No other store offers such a large selection of games and accessories as we do!

One of the unique selling points of the Uncommon Shop is the fact that every order is with you, the customer, before 16:00 the next day (excluding, weekends and holidays)!
Our team: Pascal, Luca, John, Mirco, Melvin and Noah ensure that every order is processed promptly and efficiently. The skills are very well distributed within the team:
-

Pascal, 27, is a trained banker and founder of the Uncommon Shop. Due to his long time in the business and the fact that he is mainly responsible for purchasing, he has a very broad knowledge about the product range and the different games. He always has great new ideas (like the Selecta vending machine with Pokémon boosters in front of our store - check it out!) and is on the lookout for potential innovation for our store!

Luca, 26, started working at the Uncommon Shop after graduating in Communication and Media Studies. In the last two years he took care of all marketing and HR technical stuff and in the meantime he is now even the official manager of the Uncommon Shop. Through his years of experience in competitive TCG play, he has a broad knowledge in various TCGs. His latest passion is the One Piece TCG, for which he regularly organizes tournaments in our store!

John, 26, is the main person responsible for our logistics. As a technical merchant he handles the mail traffic for us and knows pretty much everything about every possible order (really!). If something is wrong with your package or even disappeared - no problem - John can help. Anyone who has ever contacted us by mail has probably had a conversation with John. Besides his work in our shipping department, John also organizes the weekly Flesh & Blood tournaments in our store every Thursday!

Mirco, 31, packs every package with the utmost care. As a logistician, IT supporter and absolute Pokémon pro, it would be impossible to imagine our team without him! With his funny nature and his love for collecting Pokémon cards, he is the good soul of the Uncommon Shop. Since he brings every package to the post office himself, he is the linchpin to the happiness of every one of our customers. He also always runs our well-known and popular "Pokémon Treff&Trade" on the last Saturday of the month.

Melvin, 19, is a Yu-Gi-Oh enthusiast and an absolute all-rounder. Melvin takes care of everything that is going on in the store and also has a great knowledge of the various TCGs. Whether it's helping with sales at the front of the store, processing orders, or running our Yu-Gi-Oh! tournaments every Saturday, he's always there and ready to lend a hand. With his great support, he takes the pressure off everyone else on the team and helps out where needed.

Noah, 23, is the youngest addition to our team. Due to his attention to detail and his conscientiousness at work, our store front is always in perfect condition. Due to his very communicative nature and the joy he radiates, there is also no one who could not like him - the perfect salesman. He gladly advises each person in detail and helps where he can, in choosing the right product. If he is not at work, you can often find him in our store playing Yu-Gi-Oh.

You can see: The team is diverse, young and dynamic. If the stars are good, the team will also grow in the near future to further expand their service and capabilities!
