Watch your monsters rise from the ashes as you bring together the fiery phoenix monsters from two distant lands: Fire King High Avatar Garunix and Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys.

The Structure DeckOnslaughtof the Fire Kings is based on rebirth and renewal. Whenever Garunix or Nephthys is destroyed by a card effect, it returns to the field shortly afterwards with brilliance and glory. And then their fires shine so brightly that they infect all cards of a special kind: Garunix destroys all other monsters on the field, while Nephthys destroys all spells and traps.

If you want to trigger total destruction, use two copies of Garunix together. When both are on the field, let one be destroyed. In the next Standby Phase, it comes back and destroys the other Garunix and all other monsters. When the second Garunix comes back in the next Standby Phase, it destroys the first Garunix and all other monsters, then the first Garunix comes back and destroys everything, including the second Garunix, which then comes back and… well, you get the idea. With two Garunix working together, you can make sure that no opponent’s monster stays on the field for more than one turn!

Fire Power

You also get two new spell cards in your Structure Deck to turn up the heat: Rush of the Fire Kings and Circle of the Fire Kings.

Bringing Garunix or Nephthys into play is easy with the Onslaught of the Fire Kings Spell Card. Use it to summon Garunix, Nephthys or a similar monster directly from your deck. Onslaught of Fire Kings destroys the monster at the end of the turn, but that’s okay, because you want EXACTLY THAT to happen.

Once Garunix or Nephthys is destroyed by the effect of Onslaught of Fire Kings, it only means that its own effect is activated, and it rises from the ashes to set the field ablaze next turn. (Although the side effect of Onslaught of Fire Kings negates the effect of the monster on the field, it has no effect on the monster once it’s in the graveyard, so it doesn’t interfere with your Phoenix effects in any way).

If your Garunix/Nephthys lineup is ever disrupted, you can also use Circle of Fire Kings to get it back on track. This card lets you revive a FIRE monster from the Graveyard by destroying one on the field. Use this effect to get back a Phoenix that was destroyed in battle, or just use it as another way to start your combo by destroying Garunix or Nephthys on the field with a card effect. In fact, Circle of Fire Kings is a great way to get the double Garunix combo into play, as it destroys one (which can be resurrected next turn) and puts the other Garunix back on the field (so that it will be destroyed by the first Garunix and then resurrected next turn, kicking off your destructive combo).

Since Circle of Fire Kings is a Quick Spell Card, you can also use it when your monster is about to be destroyed anyway. If your opponent has just activated an effect that destroys a monster, activate Circle of Fire Kings as a new Chain Link to put Garunix or Nephthys on the field so that it is destroyed and can come back next turn.
