Shinobi Shiren is the second main set of Cicaboom’s Naruto Mythos TCG and will be released worldwide on . With 217 cards, it is significantly larger than Set 1, Konoha Shido, which launched with 152 cards. The cards are divided into 165 Character Karten, 32 attachments, and 20 mission cards.
The name says it all. “Shiren” means “examination” or “trial,” and the theme revolves entirely around the Chunin Exam and its escalation. That’s why Sound Village has an unusually strong presence with 28 cards, why Gaara is included as a Legendary in the set, and why Tsunade and Jiraiya are featured as the Sannin. The seven Akatsuki cards mark the organization’s first appearance in the game, before Set 3 takes over completely.
The Booster features Naruto in Kyuubi mode and Sasuke with his curse mark activated—precisely the duel toward which the entire arc builds. For us as a store, that’s why Set 2 sells more easily than Set 1: the designs appeal to anyone familiar with the series, even if they’ve never played a single game.

Champ.” printed in the same spot, meaning he is a Regional Championship card and is distributed through organized tournaments, not through Packs.

Transparency, because it’s important to us: The only official pull rate is for the Gold Card—1 card per 800 Boosters—and that’s exactly how it’s set up in the simulator. All other weights are our own estimates based on the card counts in the set, since Cicaboom does not publish complete pull rates. The cards shown come from the official preview images and therefore bear a “SAMPLE” watermark. Images are not yet available for Mythic and the tiers Mythic V, Shinobi V, Special V, and Secret V; these appear as colored placeholders. This gives you a sense of the order of magnitude—it’s not a guarantee.

That’s what sets the Naruto Mythos apart from most “Gold Rares” in other games. There’s actually gold on the card here.

According to the manufacturer, this is genuine 22-karat gold leaf, supplied and certified by the Florentine specialist Giusto Manetti Battiloro. It also features precision micro-engraving that refracts light on the surface, clearly visible in the cloud patterns behind the figures.

Each Legendary card bears its own serial number; for Set 2, the format is 0001/1500. Set 1 had a print run of approximately 2,000 English and 1,000 French copies, so the print run per card was reduced, even though there are more Legendary cards this time.

Official Drop Rate
The manufacturer specifies a drop rate of one Gold Card per 800 Booster Packs. When calculated for a display of 24 Packs, this simply means: the chance is there, but it’s small. This exact number is also used in the simulator above.

The Kakashi card you can’t buy
While reviewing the four Gold cards, we immediately noticed that Kakashi stands out from the rest. Whereas Gaara, Tsunade, and Jiraiya have their serial numbers, his says “Reg. Champ.” This is a Regional Championship card—in other words, a tournament prize. Naruto Mythos has been holding Store Championships across Europe since June 2026, with the first European Championship scheduled for March 2027. On the secondary market, these cards often end up being the most expensive in the entire set because their supply isn’t determined by print run, but rather by how many tournaments actually take place.

Ten cards per pack, 24 Packs per display, for a total of 240 cards. The 1st. Edition seal in the upper-left corner of the pack is the detail that will make all the difference later on.

Why We’d Jump on the 1st. Edition Right Now
Here’s the scoop: Bandai has announced its own official Naruto Card Game for 2027. It made its world debut at Gen Con 2026, it features an original illustration by Masashi Kishimoto himself, and the global launch is set for summer 2027. Bandai is the same company that’s currently demonstrating—with the One Piece Card Game—how to turn an anime TCG into a multimillion-dollar market in just a few years.
No one knows right now what this means for Naruto Mythos. Having two Naruto card games side by side on the shelf sends a strong message, and no one can say today how long Naruto Mythos’s streak will last in the face of this. But that’s exactly what makes it interesting: If production is eventually discontinued, a 1st. Edition with numbered Legendaries and real gold isn’t just an old set—it’s a true rarity with a fixed upper limit. The manufacturer has already made it clear that no reprints are planned for the 1st. Edition of Set 1.
Our take: If you’re a Naruto collector, buy the 1st. Edition now, not in 2027. If you just want to play, you can take your time and wait to see which system catches on.
