Clash of the giants: Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths

Ikoria comes up trumps with giant monsters!

In April 2020, Magic: The Gathering will visit the world of Ikoria for the first time. Mark Rosewater, the set’s lead designer, says: “It’s a world full of giant monsters and we’ll have the chance to create our own monsters, with the most ambitious mechanic in a long time.” This is said to be a new ability (probably “mutate” or “mutate”), even if this still leaves a lot open. So if you enjoy gigantic monsters, you’ve come to the right place.

The set will be released on April 24, 2020 and will be released at the same time as the Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths Commander Decks. Unfortunately, the Planeswalker Decks have to give in for the Commander Decks. This raises the question of whether Planeswalker Decks will disappear from Magic’s lineup altogether. A post from WOTC notes that all Magic expansion sets will no longer include Planeswalker Decks.

Then Planeswalker Deck will probably only be found in the main sets.
