Flesh & Blood (FaB) is on the rise – in Switzerland too!
What is Flesh and Blood?
The Fantasy Trading Card Game (TCG) has been around for three years. The community is growing all over the world and there are more and more new players in Switzerland too.
It impresses with its uniqueness, the collectability of the cards, a very high skill level, interesting mechanics and an extremely open and transparent manufacturer.
In terms of setting, the game is a fantasy game which is technically more similar to Magic in terms of theme and artwork. However, the way the game is played is unique and cannot be compared to Magic. In other words, it is not an Anime-based card game and is therefore less “off-putting” as the characters and artwork are intended more for adults. It plays very smoothly and offers players many options. There is no banlist like in Yugioh or Magic, for example, and there is also no rotation (sets are no longer legal at tournament level after a certain time). The cards therefore retain their value for “longer” and can also be used in tournaments in the future.
The release cycle of sets was and still is every 3 months a new main set with corresponding Blitz Decks. Blitz is one of two formats that is pushed by the manufacturer on a competitive level. Blitz is more of a “casual” format, whereas CC (Classic Constructed) plays like a classic Standard format.
The manufacturer LSS (Legend Story Studios) communicates very openly how many copies of a First Edition have been printed. This also makes the game interesting for old TCG hares who would like to invest in card games as an investment. In addition, a total of 1 million in prize money has been announced for the 2022 Competitive Season, which will be distributed among the various pro tournaments (nationals, regionals, etc.). LSS is very keen to support active players who consciously seek out the sport. Nevertheless, it is also worthwhile for collectors to take a closer look at FaB. First Edition sets (first print run) contain special Foil artwork of cards that are “only” available in the normal version of the Unlimited version that is released later. This means that the “exclusive” version retains its value, but availability for players is guaranteed.
Where can I watch the game?
Quite simply: in our store!
We regularly organize local tournaments of various kinds: Draft, CC or Blitz (although this is rather rare). These usually take place on Thursdays. On Sundays there may also be larger tournaments.
However, we are of course open to showing newcomers the game and advising them. So you don’t have to go to the expense of buying all the more expensive cards right from the start. There are plenty of Commons, Rares etc. available in the Common and cards can also be borrowed for tournaments without any problems.
