Pokémon – Lost Origins is here!

Last week the time had finally come: Lost Origins was released. The “Verlorener Ursprung” set, as it is called in German, had its official release on 09.09.2022.

In this article, you’ll find out what treasures of cool cards are hidden inside. If you would like to watch an opening, you can find one on our YouTube channelfrom Friday 09.09.2022. But enough advertising on our own behalf and let’s get into the cards!

The set contains a total of 247 cards. Our set here is mainly made up of cards from “Dark Phantasma” and “Lost Abyss”. Of the 247 cards, 21 are Secret Rares (BlingBling) and 30 are Trainer Gallery cards. The Trainer Gallery cards are a “secret” sub-category that features unique artwork of Trainers and their Pokémon. Interestingly, Pikachu VMax Gold and Mew VMax Gold are also included here. Trainer Gallery cards have been around since the Sun & Moon Era, but have been discontinued in some sets in between. Since the penultimate set, Strahlende Sterne, they have been back – thankfully! The “Trainer Gallery Cards” from Lost Origins do not come from “Lost Abyss” but are the remaining “Character Rares” from “VMax Climax” and some new ones from “Dark Phantasma” and “Battle Region”, which are translated into English.

Trainer Gallery Cards

Here you can see some examples of the beautiful Trainer Gallery cards. Leon and his Glurak, Red and his Pikachu or ,,Nessa” and ,,Koch” as full art cards without Pokémon on them. The very special Gold cards are apparently also part of the Trainer Gallery. Unfortunately, we don’t know exactly why this is the case, but it doesn’t matter because the cards are absolutely breathtaking!

Secret Rares

In the Secret Rares, the two flagships of “Dark Phantasma” – Hisuian Zoroark – and “Lost Abyss” – Giratina – have received the Rainbow Treatment. Giratina has also received a beautiful Gold Card Art. But the Rainbow Trainers are also impressive: Fantina, Colress’s Experiment and Miss Fortuna Sisters. Of course, there are also other Secret Rares. However, these are not listed here. Among the items, Dark Patch stands out in particular. This is particularly interesting for players. Anyone who remembers the Darkrai EX Era knows that the card can be extremely powerful under certain circumstances. Therefore a worthy Secret Rare slot.

The set is definitely worth it. It has some really nice cards in it with artwork from fan favorites. If you would like to draw a few cards yourself, you are welcome to visit our store and treat yourself to an Elite Trainer Box or Display or maybe just a few Boosters.
