Ancient Guardians – what’s in the set?

The Ancient Guardians set celebrates its release today!

Here we briefly show you which are the slightly more expensive and more beautiful cards.

This set brings us three new archetypes: Achtheits, Solfakkord and Ursarktisch.

This picture shows some of the 15 Collector Rares. The three most valuable (according to Cardmarket) are the cards that have been stacked for a long time: Dinowrestler Pankatrops (110 euros), Skull Master (84 euros) and Trade-In (69 euros).

The Achtheits theme seems to follow a graveyard-oriented reptile strategy, which tries to fill the graveyard as quickly as possible with the help of an old card, Schlangenregen (which is also a Collector Rare, by the way). If Reptile isn’t for you, the Ursarktisch theme convinces with a new approach to Synchro Summoning: Instead of adding up the levels of the cards as usual, here you look at the difference between them. Finally, the Solfakkord archetype brings new momentum to the Pendulum mechanic.

In general, the set seems to be very worthwhile for both collectors and players. Old themes are revived or expanded, giving long-time fans of the game the opportunity to flesh out their favorite mechanics and archetypes with new, rare cards.
