After centuries of uneasy peace, the land of Rathe is once again teetering on the brink of war. Savage beasts emerge from the primeval jungle and clash with noble warriors in increasingly fierce skirmishes. A forgotten realm sees its ancient barriers erode and is exposed to the greed of others, while a mystical land is confronted with the history it once tried to bury and threatens to reveal the secrets of its ancestors.
In a world plagued by conflict, you must fight for the chance to determine your destiny. Will you submit to the machinations of others or choose your own path? Pick up your sword and prepare for battle, because no matter where you run, war will find you.
Unlimited edition:
Welcome to Rathe (WTR) is the first Booster and Hero Deck set for Flesh and Blood available in local game stores in the US, Australia and New Zealand. The Unlimited Edition will mark the official launch of Flesh and Blood in Canada and some European territories. More details to come in the coming weeks.
When developing Flesh and Blood, the focus was on collectability. One of the ways we want to meet this requirement is by distinguishing between first and subsequent editions of a product. The first edition of Welcome to Rathe, which was released on October 11, 2019, is identified by an “Alpha Print” badge on the back of the display box. The first edition of Arcane Rising, which was released on March 27, 2020, is identified by a “First Edition” badge on the back of the display box. The same applies to Crucible of War and other future Boosters. Unlimited Edition packaging will have a red UNLIMITED flag on boosters and displays.
First, the Unlimited Edition is black-bordered and contains the exact same cards as the original prints of these products, in the same configuration. The Unlimited Edition supports Booster Draft and Sealed Decks. The Unlimited Edition cards feature color, stencil, and syntax improvements over the original printing, such as “red” color stripes on WTR cards, rarity badges, and the addition of italicized reminder text to some cards.
What the Unlimited Edition does not have are cold Foils.
Cold Foil is a special printing technique developed by Legend Story Studios to showcase the special and unique cards in Flesh and Blood. We are thrilled that Cold Foil has been so well received by fans around the world, and are proud to have brought this special printing technique to the global TCG stage. The presence of Cold Foils is the subtle but meaningful distinction between the First Edition and Unlimited Edition printings. Owning Cold Foil cards should be a point of pride for early adopters of Flesh and Blood, and something that will haunt collectors for many years into the future. Cards that appear as Cold Foil in the original edition will instead be found as Rainbow Foils in the Unlimited Edition booster packs, and we assure you that these cards look beautiful as Rainbow Foils.
