Admittedly, this sounds absurd at first. Anyone who has been playing Magic the Gathering for a long time is often very set in their ways. I’m no exception myself. That’s why I really welcome a breath of fresh air into the game. But what exactly is that? <\/p>\n

Nihilist – Play to your own destruction<\/h2>\n

This game principle turns everything on its head. The aim of the deck you build is to lose! However, you are not building a deck for yourself, as you are used to, but for your opponent. If you are more than one person, you can do this in turn (e.g. for the person to your left). <\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

The defeated deck receives a victory point as a reward. So the aim is to win with the deck you received from your opponent so that the deck you created yourself (which now has an opponent) loses. This is how you score points :). <\/p>\n

However, there are a few rules to follow so that the whole thing doesn’t become too easy:<\/p>\n

The deck must consist of 60 cards and contain a maximum of 2 deck colors!<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

1. 22 countries:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • \n

    At least 8 standard lands of each cover color<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Each land must produce colorless or mana in one of the opaque colors.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    all other colors are not allowed!<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    <\/div>\n

    2. 19 non-defender creatures:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • \n

      at least 16 creatures with strength 1 or more<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      at least 6 creatures of each cover color<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Artifact creatures are allowed<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      3. 19 more sayings:<\/p>\n

      <\/div>\n

      • \n

        Any allocation to the opaque colors<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Other creatures are allowed, including defenders<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        4. no cards with more than 2 colors and only in opaque colors<\/p>\n

        <\/div>\n

        5. each card, with the exception of standard lands, may only appear once in the deck.<\/p>\n

        <\/div>\n

        6 Each card must be playable. This means that conditions noted on the card, such as “Sacrifice a creature to cast this card”, must be possible. Then it should be ensured that there are enough creatures available. <\/p>\n

        I have to say that I really like this game variant. It brings a certain dynamism and a refreshing experience to the game. And very cool: You can finally use all the junk you’ve collected over the years in “Kakk cards”. Commons for the win! <\/p>\n

        Or rather: Uncommon FTW? (to add surreptitious advertising for the store to the text). <\/p>\n
