The next main set of Yu-Gi-Oh! is getting closer. ”Darkwing Blast” will be released in Europe on 20.10.2022. But what exactly does the set entail? In this article, we give you a brief overview of the contents of the new set. <\/p>\n

Blackwing<\/h3>\n

As the name suggests, there are of course also a few ”Blackwing” or ”Schwarzfl\u00fcgel” in German, cards are included in the set. These include the new Synchro Monster ”Black-Winged Assault Dragon”, which is also the flagship of the set. Whether it will be enough to finally make the ”Black-Winged” archetype ”meta relevant” is yet to be seen. In any case, it is a welcome push for the fan favorite. Ninja<\/h3>\n

The old ninja archetype also gets a few new tools in this set. The new boss monster is a new ”pseudo” fusion monster. The cards support the old strategy around continuous traps and spells that summon ninjas from the deck or anywhere else. <\/p>\n

Bystials<\/h3>\n

A very interesting ”mini archetype”. Most of the monsters come with a built-in ”D.D. Crow” effect and get an additional effect on the field. Surely these cards will be played in various decks to counter other strategies focused on light or darkness monsters. <\/p>\n

Ghoti<\/h3>\n

As a final section, we will briefly introduce you to the new Ghoti archetype. This is a new ”Water” ”Fish” archetype that plays on two Synchro monsters. The whole gimmick of the deck is to banish as many ”Fish” monsters as possible to get additional effects and skills. For fans of the Synchro mechanic, this is certainly a cool deck, which thematically also works wonderfully with older ”fish” cards such as Leviair (xyz level 3). <\/p>\n

However, the set also contains many other cards that either bring new life to old strategies or directly form a small new archetype. For example, the ”Dracoslayer Pendulum” archetype also gets new cards, which in the OCG (Japanese format) made the deck very playable again. Even very old strategies such as ”Naturia” or ”Prediction Princess” get new cards in DABL. However, it remains to be seen what impact these will have on the game and the meta. <\/p>\n
